On 23rd of July 2020, the official Robert Anton Wilson website tweeted this link to a digital zine called New Trajectories. It was created by the Only Maybe Arts Lab and released on Maybe Day Anything made by members of the Arts Lab family is going to be worth your time. And this definitely is. Its made for The Others by The Others.
Then a thought occurred. Maybe Liverpool Arts Lab could make a zine for 2021? Contributors to the zine could include our friends from the Cerne To CERN pilgrimage? Perhaps, like the pilgrimage, everyone could travel to the same destination? Maybe we start at the beginning of 2021 and work together through to its end? Individual windows on our worlds, lived collectively and apart (in true discordian style). Inspired by the Only Maybe Arts Lab, maybe we could create something for The Other Others?
So a call went out to our creative network and 32 people responded, each prepared to commit to creating 12 new works over 12 months. The original concept was for a download-only zine. This was to save unnecessary trips to the post office during lockdown. Also, it make the zine available to anyone, anywhere. However, some of The Others like good, old-fashioned print zines. And The Walker kindly offered to deal with physical orders. So its him you have to thank for the physical zines, which you can purchase using the link below.
So here is the first edition of Bodge Zine, lovingly typeset by Slim Smith.
Subsequent editions will appear on the 23rd of each month for 12 months.
Bodge #1 in print is available to order via our online shop. https://liverpoolartslab.bandcamp.com/merch/bodge-issue-1-january-2021
